Municipal
Court
The presiding
judge is the Honorable Daniel Spahn. He is a graduate of the University
of Pittsburgh School of Law and has had a private law practice
for 29 years. There are 8 employees within the Municipal Court.
The Municipal Court is responsible for typing up warrants, setting
bonds, fines, and court costs, hearing cases and prosecuting charges.
The Municipal Court hears criminal and civil matters that occur
in the City of Steubenville. Felony cases have preliminary hearings
before Judge Spahn and then the case is bound over to the county
court for trial upon showing of probable cause. Jury trials and
trials before the judge for misdemeanors and civil matters are
heard in the Municipal Court. All fines and fees are paid at the
court office at the below address.
