     The Mayor of Steubenville is the official head of the city for all ceremonial purposes and by the Governor for all purposes of military law and shall receive all legal documents. The Mayor presides over Council meetings, represents the city at regional and state meetings, appoints the members of the various city boards and commissions and serves as the President of the Board of Health.
     Mayor Domenick Mucci, Jr. began his service in city government in 1982 and has served as Mayor since 1993. Mayor Mucci is the Director of the Jefferson County Regional Planning Commision, also serves on various boards and commissions, and was appointed by Governor Taft to the State of Ohio Urban Revitalization Task Force.
