The Police Department motto is "Protect and Serve" The police are there to enforce the law, protect the citizens of Steubenville and to serve citizens in a variety of situations.

The Police Stations are located at:

123 South 3rd St. Main Station
7th Street Substation
Maryland Old Firehouse Substation
West End Firehouse Substation

The major divisions of the Police Department are:

Patrol Division
Detective Division and Identification
Traffic Division (responsible fleet maintenance and traffic law enforcement)
Narcotics Division
Animal control officer/ Litter control officer
DARE Officer
Juvenile Division
